Our Story

JB’s Smokehouse was built on a lifelong love of food, hospitality, and bringing people together around the table.

Our owner grew up right here in Oklahoma City, where family gatherings, backyard cookouts, and shared meals were a way of life. From an early age, learned that great food has a way of bringing people together — whether it’s family, friends, neighbors, or even strangers becoming friends over a great meal.

After finishing school, our owner followed the passion for the restaurant industry and began building a career in hospitality. That journey eventually led to Dallas, Texas, where years of learning the craft of restaurant operations and experiencing the rich traditions of Texas barbecue. Working up through the industry, developed a deep respect for the dedication, patience, and skill that goes into great barbecue — from smoking meats low and slow to creating a welcoming place where guests feel at home.

But no matter how far the career led, Oklahoma City always felt like home.

After years of experience in restaurants and hospitality leadership, decided it was time to return to Oklahoma and pursue a dream that had been carried for a long time — opening a smokehouse that reflect the flavors, traditions, and sense of community that shaped him.

JB’s Smokehouse & Bar is that dream brought to life.

At JB’s our meats are smoked low and slow every day, using time-honored techniques and bold, simple flavors and that let great bbq speak for itself. From sliced brisket, delicious sausage to smoked chicken and classic sides, every plate is made to be shared and enjoyed with the people around you.

More than anything, JB’s is meant to be a place where the community can gather — whether you’re stopping in after a ballgame, meeting friends for dinner, or taking the whole family dinner to-go.
